DIY - The Starry Night Light

You will need:

  • Newsprint

  • A balloon

  • Flour, sugar and water

  • A cutter

  • White and gold painting

  • Baking soda

  • A paintbrush

  • A pencil

1.Make home-made paste: In a saucepan over a low heat, whisk 2 tablespoons of flour, 1 teaspoon of sugar and 1/2 glass of water until thickened.

Add 1 glass of water and reheat a little bit.

2.Form the paper sphere:

Cut paper strips and paste them all over the surface of a balloon. Make 2 or 3 layers of paper.

Live it to dry for 24/48h.

3.Leave the ballon inflated inside the paper sphere and paint it with plasterboard effect painting. For that, mix one part of baking soda with one part of white painting. Leave it to dry.

4.Ask your kid to draw some stars, rockets or a moon all over the surface of the balloon. Cut the drawings with a cutter or scissors (it will pierce the balloon inside). Take out the balloon and cut the sphere properly to install it after.

5.Paint the inside of the light with gold painting. When everything is dry, put a lighting garland inside and let the magic happen!
